Walks around Lockton
The Heritage Group has developed a number of walks in the parish of
Lockton. All walks start from the parking area opposite the cemetery at
the east end of the village
1. Lockton and Staindale (approx 5½ miles). Click to download walk 1
2. Lockton and Farwath (approx 3½ miles). A walk through
Lockton village and then to the south with long views to the east. Down
to the railway at Farwath and then climb to Lockton Brow with views
into the valley and St Mary's Church. Finally return to the village

3. Lockton and High Bridestones (approx 6 miles). A
walk to the intriguing geological feature of the Bridestones. Returning
through the picturesque valleys of Dove Dale, Staindale and Greendale. Click to download walk3
4. Wedlands and the Valley Church (approx 3 miles). From Lockton descend through woodland to the valley bottom. Why was a church built here? It's a steep climb back to the village. Click to download walk 4
